Meet The Director: David Michôd’s short film ‘Crossbow’ – a family, sex, drugs and an unraveling
Yesterday, it was announced that Robert Pattinson will be in Sydney Oct. 22nd to promote his next film, Breaking Dawn Part 2. FilmInk made a connection we also had in mind:
R-Patz coming to Sydney on Monday 22nd October to promote Twilight and to no doubt hang out with David Michod

We definitely think (at the very least, hope) Australian media outlets will bring up The Rover and Rob working with David Michôd and Guy Pearce. Aussies are proud of their film industry and rightfully so.
During the pre-production of the film, we wanted to showcase the work of David Michôd so you guys are more familiar with him beyond Animal Kingdom. Short films are often like “calling cards” for rising filmmakers. Let’s you see what they’re about. Their creative style and ability to capture an audience to tell a story. Michôd’s released several short films through his film collective, Blue Tongue Films, and the first one we’re posting for our Meet The Director series is Crossbow.
The film was written and directed by Michôd and stars Cy Standen, Lisa Chappell & Joel Edgerton (also a part of Blue Tongue Films and starring in the upcoming The Great Gatsby). Michôd narrates the film and has a role. Can you tell which character? Tell us in the comments if you figure it out.
Here is the synopsis:
A kid. His mum and dad. The sex and drugs. And the boy next door who watched the whole thing unravel.
What did you think? The story? How it was shot? We’ll continue to “Meet the Director” as we move closer to the film production. 🙂
